Phishing scam aimed at stealing email login credentials


MailGuard has detected an email phishing scam - see screenshot above - seeking to harvest victim’s email login data.

Cybercriminals use phished email credentials to perpetrate identity theft and steal victim’s personal data.

This simply designed email looks innocent enough, and because it doesn’t contain any logos or branding, it has the potential to deceive users of any email platform.

The “activate a new quota” link in the message points to a phishing page, shown below:

This page asks for the victim’s email address and password, which will be collected by the criminals behind the scam and may be used for identity theft purposes or to perpetrate more email scams.
