Feature Enhancement: Quarantine Management

A critical task for Admins is the ability to administer email quarantine. The pressure is on to determine if a message should be rejected, quarantined or delivered, and to action it accordingly, all the while dealing with staff and management who may be chasing down time-sensitive messages for release, where they suspect they may have been caught up in quarantine as false positives.

There are loads of scenarios and use cases, and our team are committed to providing the tools necessary to give Admins confidence that they’re up to the task and ready for any challenge.

A couple of new enhancements have now been introduced to specifically bolster quarantine management and to streamline processing to make life easier for Admins.

  • Dedicated Quarantine Release Handler

Email quarantine management can be a time-consuming process, so MailGuard now features a dedicated Quarantine Release Handler to expedite the release of quarantined emails.

In the past, the process of releasing events from email quarantine involved multiple checks before emails could be safely delivered to end users. The process was cumbersome and often led to a resource bottleneck, with release events vying for priority within our email system.

To address the issue, the MailGuard engineering team has implemented a significant system redesign that enables us to respond to release events faster, streamlining those post-processing checks and ensuring that the same level of scrutiny is maintained while significantly reducing the time required.

This new enhancement ensures that important communications reach their intended recipients without unnecessary delays.

  • Enhanced Quarantine Search – Search By Policy Type

In addition, MailGuard has further streamlined the process of email quarantine search by allowing Admins to search by policy type in quarantine. The function even works for deleted policies, simplifying email management and retrieval.

Keeping Businesses Safe and Secure

Prevention is always better than a cure, and one of the best defences is to encourage businesses to proactively boost their company’s cyber resilience levels to avoid threats landing in inboxes in the first place. The fact that a staggering 94% of malware attacks are delivered by email, makes email an extremely important vector for businesses to fortify.

No one vendor can stop all email threats, so it’s crucial to remind customers that if they are using Microsoft 365, they should also have a third-party email security specialist in place to mitigate their risk. For example, using a third-party cloud email solution like MailGuard.

MailGuard provides a range of solutions to keep businesses safe, from email filtering to email continuity and archiving solutions. Speak to your customers today to ensure they’re prepared, and get in touch with our team to discuss strengthening your customer’s Microsoft 365 security.
