Stacker ‘Disney+ Workspace’ Phishing Email Hits Inboxes

MailGuard has intercepted a new phishing campaign circulating under the guise of a Disney+ workspace invitation from "Stacker." While the message appears to be a simple collaboration invite, it's in fact a multi-stage phishing attack designed to harvest login credentials, credit card data, and even trigger fraudulent banking transactions.

The Deceptive Hook: A Stacker Invite to Disney+

The scam starts with an email that looks like a legitimate workspace invitation from Stacker, with the subject line: “You’re invited to join Disney+ Workspace on Stacker”

The display name is Stacker, and the sending address uses `no-reply@stackerhq.com`, making the email appear credible at first glance. However, clicking the link embedded in the body of the message initiates a dangerous phishing sequence.

Here's what the email looks like 👇

DISNEY STACKER - 0625 - email

Redirection from Stacker to a Fake Disney+ Page

Recipients are taken to a spoofed Disney+ landing page, hosted at a suspicious domain (`ps2(dot)equimine(dot)com`), written in Dutch. The language and branding are crafted to create urgency, stating that your account will be deleted within 7 days if not confirmed. The page is titled 'Accountbevestiging Vereist' which translates to 'Account Confirmation Required' and the call to action is a button labelled 'Mijn Account Bevestigen' or 'Confirm my account'.

From there, the scam escalates.

What Happens Next: A Sophisticated Multi-Step Phishing Flow

Credential Harvesting

Users are directed to a fake Disney+ login screen to enter their email and password.

Credit Card Capture

After entering credentials, users are prompted to submit their credit card number, expiry date, CVV, and name.

Banking App Fraud Trigger

The final screen tells the user to approve a transaction in their banking app. This is likely a trick to get around multi-factor authentication and initiate a fraudulent payment or subscription charge.

Display Name and Sending Addresses

The display name is 'Stacker' accompanied by a display address of 'no-reply(at)stackerhq(dot)com', with a range of unique sending addresses per message sent.

This phishing attack is a textbook example of how cybercriminals use legitimate-looking services and branding to exploit user trust. The use of Stacker as the delivery vehicle and the Disney+ brand as the bait are especially effective at getting users to lower their guard.

The email content is designed to appear harmless, just a workspace invite. But the moment a user clicks, they’re drawn into a step-by-step funnel built to steal everything from login credentials to credit card and banking information.

Stay Safe - Know the Signs

Avoid emails that:

  • Aren’t addressed to you personally.
  • Are unexpected and urge immediate action.
  • Contain poor grammar or miss crucial identifying details.
  • Direct you to a suspicious URL that isn’t associated with the genuine company.
