SOC Update to Fight Document Phishing & How it Works Guide

MailGuard’s Security Operations Centre (SOC) has observed a steady incline in document phishing attacks leveraging legitimate services, rather than compromised websites.

To combat these attacks, the SOC has further enhanced MailGuard’s core threat protection infrastructure by upgrading meta defence algorithms and proprietary predictive modules. The enhancements have been working in the background and have successfully blocked 10’s to 100’s of thousands of malicious emails from landing in your customer’s inboxes.

The heightened level of threat posed by bad actors, including sophisticated transnational operations, continues to rise. We know that nine out of ten cyberattacks are instigated by an email and target vulnerable front-line employees, so, MailGuard is continuing to iterate on the proprietary threat detection IP that has accumulated in its architecture over several decades.

MailGuard has spent the past two decades evolving its threat protection rule sets and methodology to enhance the level of defence for customers. The lack of threats landing in inboxes is evidence of MailGuard’s success, but many still have questions about how it works.

To provide greater insight, we’ve created a quick guide outlining some of the levels of protection and interventions undertaken by our network and team (which some have likened to ninjas) which you can share with your customers.
