MailGuard has intercepted a new, highly targeted phishing campaign impersonating SEEK, one of Australia’s most trusted job platforms. This sophisticated scam is designed to steal employer login credentials under the guise of a policy violation warning.
The fraudulent message claims that a job advertisement has been suspended due to a potential violation of non-discrimination policies. It urges the recipient to "Fix my Job Ad now", linking to a counterfeit SEEK login page.
Here's an example of what the email looks like 👇
Once the link is clicked, victims are directed to a convincing fake login screen that closely mimics SEEK’s legitimate employer portal:
Login Prompt
The user is asked to enter their SEEK credentials.
Two-Factor Verification Trap
A second page then asks for a one-time SMS verification code, mimicking SEEK’s two-factor authentication step.
Finally, users are redirected to the legitimate SEEK login page, making it appear as though the process was genuine.
By this stage, the scammers have already harvested the victim’s username, password, and SMS authentication code — giving them full access to the SEEK employer account.
