Got an email claiming “cPanel is delaying incoming messages?’’ Beware, it’s likely to be the latest email now being intercepted by MailGuard, looking to harvest user’s credentials.
Sent to administrator(at)your business’s domain, the suspicious looking simple email states “You have some pending messages on your server. Kindly authenticate your account below to access on hold messages.” The email creates a sense of urgency by also stating that “activation expires after 12 hours, and after this time your domain will be blocked. “
The number of messages in the subject line varies from 6 to 9 messages and the sending and display addresses vary and may include the following:
support(at)webmailserverho(dot)com, support(at)webmailhocpanel(dot)com, support(at)webmailhoserver(dot)com, cha(dot)hol(at)eggspectmore(dot)com, support(at)webmailcpanelz(dot)com

Once these credentials are entered and submitted, the attacker harvests them for later use, and the user is met with a message on the page saying ‘’Authenticating”.
Then after a short time, users are presented with an error message stating “The login is invalid”.
