Important Information Regarding MailGuard's Network Upgrade

Written by | 17 December 2012 09:58:00 Z

On February 1st 2013, MailGuard will perform a network upgrade and switch over to a new Access Control List (ACL) - the list of hosts (ip addresses) from which clients can expect to get their clean email delivered.

This is a necessary upgrade to cater for growth and to ensure the optimal functioning of the MailGuard service. It only occurs every four to five years.

Those clients that still have the old MailGuard ACL applied on that date run the risk of email not being delivered. That’s why it is extremely important to apply the new ACL before the February 1st deadline.

Where do you apply the change?

The ACL is commonly applied either at the Exchange or the perimeter firewall level and you can implement the change today.

How you can apply this change right now

Simply replace the old MailGuard ACL (7 hosts) with the new ACL (consisting of 12 hosts).

Don't know how to apply this update? Confused about what's happening or what exactly an ACL is? Haven't applied the update yet? Need more information?

As always, reliable delivery of your clean email feed is our number one concern. We're doing everything we can to make this upgrade as quick and painless as possible for our clients. Your service will not be interrupted in any way.
